What it's like to work at home with cats

Cat at home

What is it like to work at home with cats? If you have the opportunity to carry or have your work at home, your furry will be able to spend much more time with you, something that will be good for both of you. But ... not everything is rosy. I speak from experience.

It's great to have your friend's company, but when you have a lot to do… it's a delightful distraction, but a distraction nonetheless. So if you want to know how to be more productive at home, I recommend you read this article,

What is it like to work at home with felines?

Well, it will depend on the number of cats and the job you have. I will speak to you from my experience. I work as a web writer, mornings and occasional afternoons from Monday to Friday, and I share my life with five cats: Susty, Keisha, Benji, Sasha and Bicho whom I adore. But I'm not going to fool you: when they get on the desk I can't help caressing them, or giving them kisses, or picking them up and hugging them… It is very difficult to resist!

However, things get "less pretty" when they get on the keyboard, play with the cables or sit in front of the monitor. That's when I have to act differently: taking them and lowering them from the table, which by the way they will go back up as soon as a few seconds pass. Why? Because they are cats and they do what they want 🙂.

As I said at the beginning, cats are a very cute and wonderful distraction, but you have to realize that when you are working, you are working. Of course, you can pet them and listen to them a little, but not too much.

What to do to improve performance?

When you live with cats and have work at home, the ideal would be to go to a room in which the animals could not enter. Now, if what we are interested in is keeping them a little company, we have to know that as soon as they have the opportunity they will climb into our laps and that they will do everything possible to get our attention.

Therefore, you have to get a little "firm" and not let them distract you too much. Short pampering sessions of about five minutes every so often are fine, as long as they are not repeated a lot.

I have two cats, one is a Ragdol breed, 9 months old, and the other is a Bengali breed, aged two and a half years old, they are wonderful, one acts as a mother, because the little one was brought by my two-month-old daughter,
They fascinate me, they understand me all very affectionate, I adore them, they are my relaxation, they are always by my side,
Cats are the most special and tender beings.
