What are cat cafes?

Can you imagine being able to go to a place where there are people who like or are curious about felines and where you can pet cats? That site exists, and although there is not yet one in every part of the world, it is being so successful that I would not be surprised if they soon open new ones in other places.

And it is that, what must have started as a test in Taiwan in 1998, has become an attraction for the cat lovers. I am speaking, of course, of the cat cafes.

What are cat cafes?

They are cafeterias ... but very special. You have to pay entrance, and in addition to taking what you want you can hang out in the company of the beautiful and adorable cats. There are those who spend hours inside, and it is that, among the multiple qualities that these cats have, we must highlight their ability to relax. That sweet look, the sound of the purr and that desire to be with people make them incredible animals.

Where there is?

At the moment, they have only been encouraged to open cat cafes in Taiwán, Japan and in Europe. In the Old Continent, the first one was inaugurated in March 2012, in Vienna. The following year, on September 21, Paris decided to also bet on these special cafes by opening one in the Marais district.

On October 15, 2013 one was opened, The Gatoteca, in Spain, specifically in the capital. In addition to being a place where you can enjoy very good company, it is also an opportunity to meet the cats of the NGO ABRIGA, which is dedicated to collecting abandoned cats and finding a home for them.

In Italy, the MiaGola café was opened on March 22, 2014, in Turin. On April 5 of that same year, also in Turin, the second cat cafe was opened.

As of October 2014, Finland had already opened one in Tampere.
