As long as you can afford to provide all the care it needs (water, high quality food, a safe place to live, darling, and not forgetting the expense of having to take it to the vet every time it needs it) I am convinced that you are going to spend a few very entertaining years.

You'll start to respond to the meows
When you and your cat get to know each other, it will be very easy for you to know what he is trying to tell you with his meows. But in the meantime (and even afterwards) you will observe him and, as soon as you hear him meow, you will respond to him. You won't know if you're really saying something to him in his language, but still, that human-cat »conversation» will make you feel happy. (the bad thing will be when your furry realizes that you respond to ALL his meows, then he will know how to get your attention even if it is not a good time).
You won't be able to help but smile when you see a footprint of your cat
When you've scrubbed the floor, your cat will surely step on it. As it dries, you will see its footprint. His sweet little footprint. Believe me, it may seem like an insignificant detail, but it would not be strange to have a smile drawn from ear to ear, or that it even gave you a certain sadness to remove it.
Sometimes, you will choose to stay at home than go out and / or travel
Having a pet at home should never be a deterrent when deciding to travel or simply go for a walk. You can always leave the cat in the house for a few days and ask someone to come and put water and food on it and see if it is okay. But, I don't know, for example a lot happens to me, that in some moments, some days, I prefer to stay at home with my furry ones before going out, especially when they are sick or something has happened to them.
You will buy anything to make him happy
A can of wet food, a toy, cat treats… Anything will do to make him happy. But beware never forget that the best way to make sure your furry is good with you is by spending timeIt doesn't matter how many toys you have if they are on the floor without anyone using them. For this reason, it is more worth having two or three toys, and playing with them every day, than having a bunch scattered throughout the house.
You won't mind finding yourself -some- hairs around the house
It is a cat. During the shedding season she looses hair. It is normal. If you want to avoid having hair all over the house, you should brush it daily. But I already warn you that when you live with one, finding a few hairs on the furniture will not make you feel bad. Total, they are removed and ready. 😉
