Leave him alone for a long time
You may have heard it said that the cat is an independent animal and that it can live for only a week, that it only needs food and water. Well. This is false. Physically nothing is going to happen to him, but emotionally that furry is not ready to spend so long without his family, for the simple fact that he has always lived with her and wants to be with her.
Mistreat him (yell and / or hit him)
Although it is obvious, still today there are people who think that by yelling at the cat he will stop doing what he is not supposed to do. Or that you can pour a jet of water so that it "understands" ... Nothing could be further from the truth. The only thing that the furry man will understand is that his human, the person he loves the most in the world, is making him feel bad.
Pull his tail
Many parents let their children pull the cat's tail, and are then surprised if the cat "attacks" the little ones. This behavior that the animal can show is completely normal: he is defending himself. If they took us by the arm and squeezed it hard or stretched it, we would also defend ourselves.
Give him a biologically inappropriate food
This, although it is also "drawer", I think it is necessary to remember. A cat is a carnivorous feline animal, that is, it must eat only and exclusively meat. If nobody would think of giving a lion a salad, let's not give our dear friend foods that his body does not need and that, in fact, can cause allergies, such as cereals.
Not allow him to be a cat
The cat has retractable claws, fangs, and a body that is made by and for night hunting. From a very young age he spends a lot of time perfecting his hunting techniques through play. However, humans sometimes do things we shouldn't: amputate their nails so that they do not scratch, to dress them, or not to provide high scratchers where they can climb and have their territory controlled.
When we decide to bring an animal home, we shouldn't just take it in because we think it's nice and that's it. That furry one has needs as a species and as an individual that have to be respected.
