On many occasions, we can suspect that our cat is not in good health, and instead of taking it immediately to the vet we wait a couple of days for the ailment or those symptoms that make us think you are sick. However, it is important to note that there are three symptoms that are unavoidable, and that can alert us when our cat is suffering from a disease and needs to visit the vet as soon as possible.
- Red eyes: A cat with red and inflamed eyes is a symptom of some type of infection. Generally, a cat's eyes can turn this color, due to different types of diseases, among which are infections of the outer eyelid, the third eyelid, the cornea, among others. In the same way, this color change can also be a sign that the animal is suffering from glaucoma, or high pressure inside the eye, or any other type of disease in the eye socket. Whatever the reason, it is important that we immediately take our animal to the doctor.
- Cough: Although coughing is a relatively normal problem in cats, since it is a protective reflex to eliminate secretions or foreign bodies that reach the throat or respiratory tract, it can also affect the respiratory system, blocking the capacity breathing and obstructing the entire respiratory system. Generally, the causes of cough can be pneumonia, bronchitis, among other diseases, so we recommend that you take the animal to the veterinarian as soon as possible.
- Bloody diarrhea: blood in the stool, although it is difficult to distinguish in some cases, it is important that we pay attention when it is quite black, since it can be a symptom of serious diseases, so we have to visit the doctor as soon as possible.
