When we work outside the home or when we go on a trip we tend to worry a lot about our furry dogs, and it is normal since that means that we love them and that we do not want anything bad to happen to them.
Still, I'm going to give you a series of recommendations for leaving cats home alone that will be very useful so that both they and you are well 🙂.
Tips for when you work out all day
Cats that spend many hours alone are animals that tend to get bored and frustrated easily, which is completely logical. But their emotional state will change if we do something to bring about this change, and it is nothing other than ... playing with them. Yes Yes, if we play with them three times a day (or two at least) for about 20-25 minutes (or until they get tired) they will spend the rest of the day calm. In any case, if we live with only one cat and it is also young, nervous and restless, it may not be too much to bring it a partner 😉.
Other things we can (and should) do is improve the interior of the house a bit, with scratching trees, shelves at different heights, and also if we can with tunnels. These furry ones like to be in the heights more than on the ground, so we will make them very happy if we adapt the house to their needs as an animal. You have more information here.
Tips for when you go on a trip
Humans generally like to travel, and at other times we have no choice but to do so. Whether it's a business trip or not, it's the same for cats. For this, and taking into account that they feel safe alone at home, It is best to leave them where they are and ask a family member or friend to take them to eat and be with them.. In the event that they cannot, we will look for an experienced cat sitter who also has good references.
Before we go, we will leave toys for you so that the person who comes to see them can play with them.
