Cat Breeds: Ragamuffin

The Ragamuffin are from larger breeds that can be found among cats. With a powerful musculature, especially in the front legs, they do not stand out as good climbers, but they do stand out as excellent companions.

With a relatively small head if we compare it with their body, the Ragamuffins stand out for the good proportion of their physique, which, being a little more robust than in other breeds, makes these cats lose a little agility and behave more calmly. But do not be fooled, as this breed can be as active as any other.

His face forms a small set, highlighting the large eyes and a flat nose. The ears, pointed and always held high, are usually turned forward.

But without a doubt, its most outstanding feature is its beautiful fur. Its great density gives the impression at first glance that it is a long coat, but in reality it is short and thick, increasing in the neck, torso and hind legs, ending in a bushy tail.

When deciding what race we would like our future to be catWe think of those that present better characteristics of sociability and require less complex care. If you are also of this opinion, in the Ragamuffin You have a good option, since, in addition to being very affectionate and behaving well, they do not require any extra care; it will be enough to brush it frequently, and to check the cleanliness of its ears often, since their shape and position make them prone to getting dirty easily.

As for their origin, possibly related to the Ragdoll, It is estimated that it arose in a California kennel, where a wild cat had been given asylum that soon after had a litter of puppies that stood out for their sociability. From there, it was sought to preserve the characteristics of those kittens, emerging from that upbringing the Ragamuffin.

A tip for friends who want to buy a kitten ... There are thousands of homeless kittens waiting to be adopted, in Chile there are several groups of people who dedicate themselves day by day to rescue, rehabilitate when necessary and give up adoption at all costs. ages. Getting paid with any of these animal organizations that work is for profit, only thinking about the welfare of the younger siblings. I personally have a ragamuffin and I adopted it in one of these organizations and I can say that it is a beautiful cat and it has only brought us happiness and affection at home. It may not be one hundred percent pure, but it retains each of the characteristics described on this page. You don't compete in one race, adopt one without a home. Greetings

Kittens are very independent, I have a ragamuffin but without knowing its breed, I found it crawling on the ground, very baby and I adopted it, I had never had a kitten, but we did not have the heart to leave it, but later another kitten came to little house, we gave him food, water and he stayed, we operated on both of them. There are so many kittens looking for a home, adopting is a great option.
