How do cats communicate with each other?

Two cats can get along if they live together in the same house

How do cats communicate with each other? In different ways 🙂. These animals can be very social; In fact, this is something that we can verify in our towns or cities, since there will surely be more than one feline colony. Even if we ourselves live with more than one, we will immediately notice that the way of relating is unique.

So if you are curious to know how they do it, I'll explain it to you next.

Wave

In the same way that humans usually say "hello" or wave our heads and / or hands in greeting, cats do something similar: they may meow (a short meow), and / or brush their nose against the other cat's to do the same. If they get along very, very well, it is not uncommon for them to rub their heads against hers afterwards or to start grooming each other.

I am angry

A cat when he is angry is going to notice quickly: His pupils will be dilated, he will stare at his »adversary», his body hair will stand up, including his tail, and he will be very tense. He will be ready to attack at any moment, although he will avoid getting there by trying to get his opponent to get away from him by growling and / or snorting at him.

I am curious / I am attentive to something

If there is something that is very curious to him, such as the sound of a cat approaching for example, he will turn his head towards that sound, and he will pay close attention to it. You may be sitting or lying down, but in either case, you may be able to move slowly or not at all. Then surely decide to get closer.

This is my territory

Cats are very territorial, some more than others. To defend what they consider to be theirs, what they do is mark it with urine and your fingernails. If they see a feline they do not know, they will snort, growl, and if necessary, with fights.

In mating season

Cats that are in heat they will have a somewhat different behavior than they normally have. In the case of male cats, they could attack the others if there is a non-neutered cat nearby; and in the case of females, they will be very affectionate and will rub themselves on the ground.

The cat enjoys the company of its kind
