As we discussed in this article, exercise for cats is very important, not only in terms of physical health, but also mental health. And it is that, having them at home without doing anything all day, is very sad because they immediately get bored, frustrated and that is when they begin to have behaviors that we do not expect, such as biting and / or scratching us, or relieving themselves outside of the tray.

Cats that live indoors for their entire lives, without going outside for anything other than going to the vet, will need us to help them to be happy, since the stimuli that can be found outside can never be found inside. Now, that does not mean that they cannot have the same fun, but that they will do it differently. How? For example:
- We will put different shelves at different heights, some wrapped with raffia rope, some with stuffed cloth, and some with nothing. These animals love to see us from above, so these shelves will be very useful, since we can also use them to put their feeder and thus force them to do a little exercise.
- We will provide you with one or more scrapers. One of them is highly recommended to be a scratching tree, that is, to reach the ceiling. This way, they can jump, sharpen their nails and play with each other much easier.
- We will give them toys. But beware, these toys do not have to be lying on the ground, we have to pick them up and play with them: throw them so they can pick them up, move them so they have to "hunt" the rope or the stuffed animal, hide them somewhere and encourage them to look for them… We will do it at least three times a day (in the morning, at noon and in the evening). In the event that someone is obese, the game sessions will be longer but shorter (about 5 minutes).

Cats that go outside, even to a garden, the need to explore they have satiated. Now, it is important that, first, they are castrated before they go out for the first time, and second that they wear a necklace with an identification plate for what could happen.
Likewise, every time they go home, although they will most likely arrive tired, if we see that they are a little nervous or that they are near their toy, we should invite them to play, just in case.
