Cat Monty, sick with Down syndrome

As we know, Down syndrome is a genetic abnormality that can affect people, but ... and cats? For some time now, a series of images of felines that seem to have this syndrome have been circulating on the networks, as is the case of Monty.

Now, it must be made clear that it is not a cat with Down syndrome. He suffered an abnormality in his genes, but not trisomy 21, which is what affects humans. What is the history of this furry? If you want to know her, don't stop reading 🙂.

Monty is a very lucky cat, especially since his Danish humans Mikala Klein and Michael Bjorn decided to adopt him in 2013. They went to a shelter and simply fell in love with the furry one. Despite the bridge of the nose, despite being somewhat peculiar, they decided to take it home and live with it.

To this day they cannot be happier, since although they themselves say that every so often he has an episode of urinary incontinence, the kind and affectionate character of the feline has conquered. What's more, "he loves to lie on your lap and keep you company at night without taking off until you wake up." Thus, any of us would end up at his feet ... sorry, legs 🙂.

The couple wants their furry to be an ambassador for those animals that do not have what many call a "normal appearance", so they do not hesitate to upload photos of Monty in Facebook, Instagram y YouTube, where hundreds of thousands of people already follow him. In addition, they have created a line of jewelry and other objects in order to raise funds that will later be donated to animal protection centers.

They are undoubtedly an inspiration, don't you think?
