What do cats do when they are alone? That is a question that all of us who live with a feline have asked ourselves from time to time. And, we know what they do when they are with us, but ... and in our absence? What will they do?
At Noti Gatos we are going to try to answer this question.
Explore home
It's the first thing they do as soon as we leave. They are very curious animals, and they will not hesitate for a moment to get up from their bed to take a tour of the house to see if they find new smells to investigate.
Eat
A house in silence is the best place to eat quietly. Cats do not like having to eat if they live in tense environments or where parties are held very often; especially those who are more shy, enjoy food a lot when the home is empty.
Observe the landscape
If they have no possibility of going abroad, they will stay in front of the window for a long time, during which it is more than likely that a bird will approach that the feline will try to hunt. And, if on the contrary he can go out for a walk, if he is neutered, he will not do anything that the "indoor" cat does not do; in fact, furry animals that can no longer reproduce tend to always stay around the house, exploring the environment.
Sleep
Adult cats can sleep up to 18 hours, and the most puppies up to 20 hours. Being nocturnal predatory animals, they sleep practically all day. At night, when they return home, they will want to play with us 😉.
Do things they shouldn't
We are not going to fool you: even the cutest cat can do mischief in your absence. Things like stealing food or throwing objects on the ground are the most common. But despite all this, they are incredible.
Get bored
Cats are not as independent as we have been told; what's more, they are social, they need to interact with other furry ones in order to be happy. If you spend many hours alone perhaps it would be a good idea to consider adopting a second feline, or choose to buy food dispensers from you.
Rejoice when the human arrives
When we get home after work, our dear friend will come to greet us. Most likely meow with joy, that it rubs against our legs and that it wants us to give it a lot of affection. Let us not deny it.
